i just saw Richard III, played by Kevin Spacey. OH MY GOD. it was so freaking good. i loved everything about it (except the fact that it was well, shakespeare.) the set was awesome. the lighting was really good (and complex). the sounds were very interestingly used, especially the use of drums (as you can see in the photo). the directing and some of the directorial choices were really clever. and kevin spacey. oh my word.
oh, also my friend and i got the best seats in the house. and i mean, really the best seats. we got the centre seats on the centre row of the stall. and we only paid $112, original price $250. i suspect it was one of those student shows? it was a 2pm show, and TONS of students from all the jcs. the whole vj lit cohort was there. i saw saw teo gene en, james ho and brassington. talked to teo gene en. our seats were seriously amazing.
i'm still really blown away by the performance. wow.
