Man Vs. Tribe

Bruce Parry travels to the most isolated parts of the world from freezing Siberia, to the most arid parts of South Africa, to the Amazon, and to the jungles of Indonesia (with the most breathtaking landscapes you could imagine). He lives for a period of one to three months, as a member of the tribe. He takes part in the most insane rituals like taking hallucinogenic drugs, getting a tattoo with a razor blade, dropping bitter juice into his eyes, taking part in a cattle-jumping ritual and a stick fighting ritual. He hunts with the natives, sleeps, eats, laughs, and lives like them. It's a real eye-opening series, and leaves baby Anthropologists like me frothing at the mouth with excitement. What I love so much about it is that they show the reality of these people's situations - how they're adapting to changes in their worlds, and how everyone is just the same, just trying to survive and live as happily as possible. I always get a bit teary when Bruce leaves a tribe at the end of a trip. Its real emotions here, real friendships, real bonds that form between him and these people. Tribe is an amazing series, and everyone should go check it out.

Plus, he's got that deadpan narration and that dry British humour that we all love.

In Mongolia! (I love this episode. Check that scenery!) Bruce follows nomadic Darhad herders on their winter migration route

Bruce visits some Cannibals (no, seriously), the Kombai in West Papua

Bruce trains for Crocodile hunting with the Dassanech tribe in Southern Ethiopia
