"In my dream, spring came after summer, came after fall, came after winter, came after spring."
The Twenty Word Review of "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close", Jonathan Safran Foer, 2005:
"Hereby banning imagery of bodies falling off the Twin Towers from all future literature! One can only cry so much."

Ahhh Kelly that is one of the best lines of the book- I read the novel when I was 15 and I think I'll read it again before I turn 20 and see if my perspective of the book has changed. I love the pictures and the KEYS =) The montage of the 9/11 towers towards the back is quite haunting if I remember correctly. I might read it again next summer haha Jonathan Safran Foer when's your next book coming out??
ReplyDeleteI know, that line really got me, and that whole chapter really. Have you read Everything is Illuminated? And actually he has a new book just out called Eating Animals, no? But it's about vegetarianism... and it's non-fiction.
ReplyDeleteDid you prefer this one to History of Love?
I still haven't read History of Love!! I did read half of Man Walks Into Room though- and yes! I read Everything Is Illuminated but it was a bit confusing and the story line wasn't as fluid or as relatabl (for me) as Extremely Loud I love the cover of the book
ReplyDeleteMy goodness. Its really a massive surge of love for the dude everywhere!
