So it's been a long time since I've posted! I did overseas CIP in Wuzhou, China from 26th April to 12th May and extended to Hongkong after that!
These pictures are from the best moment I had in Hongkong. We stood at the highest floor of Ocean Terminal, where we had a great few of the entire Hongkong skyline. There was a light show going on, but I thought that was pretty lame. What felt really nice/great/beautiful/cool was standing there facing the entire city with the cold in our faces and feeling overwhelmed by the vastness of everything - the lights, the buildings, the mountains, that stretched on endlessly.
I needed music to suit that wonderful moment and listed to Insomnia (Electric President), Re: Stacks (Bon Iver), and Kids Will Be Skeletons (Mogwai). There's just something about music + night scenery that really gets to me every single time.

OK, 3 part comment:
ReplyDelete1)I really like those pictures Rachel. Almost like something from a neo-noir film.
2)I know what you mean about the music. Whenever I'm face to face with an amazing new place I always wish that I could somehow remix my perceptions to an appropriate soundtrack.
3)Now that you made your font smaller I thought for a split second I was reading something that I myself had written.
Lovely pictures rachel! And yes I agree with Kelly they're very film-noir like (I feel like watching In the Mood for Love- sigh Tony Leung) and ahh Insomnia I was listening to it alot a couple of weeks ago it's such a nice reflective-ish kind of song. I'm in Brighton right now I can't wait to lie on the beach and listen to music on the little Red shuffle. Hopefully I'll pick the right mix of music
