*In the words of the extremely passionate CBR fan who was sitting behind us, after the (admittedly awesome) "Que Sera, Sera" encore. We were kind of laughing at him all night.

I’m so glad we got to see Corinne Bailey Rae, because I’ve been in love with her for ages. She’s so beautiful, but more than that, she radiates all manner of charm and grace and soul and... well, I’m sure there’s a phrase for it in French, but I don’t really know how to put across the mysteriously effortless spell she casts. And those eyes – oh my god. They’re so exquisitely crescent-shaped, always brimming with joy and effervescence and dreamy tranquillity. I think that’s why I felt particularly sad when her husband passed away, because I couldn’t imagine anyone with such happy eyes having to face such tragedy.



In person last night her voice was lovely, stunningly so – all dusky-velvety. You could just fall into a voice like that, it was so lush. And she herself was predictably sweet and fresh-faced (not that we were close enough to really see her face), and super chic in her jumpsuit. Oh I just want to BE her, can you tell.
