And what about them kids?

i witnessed something very worrying just now.

i was at outside the bedok long john silver waiting for my mom to pick me up. there was a raised zebra crossing. there was a boy (pri sch, prob), who wanted to cross the road. he went to the side of the road, raised up his left hand, and waited. this, is good. this is everything that we are taught in primary school. there were a bunch of cars on the road. first car slowed down... and did not stop. second car slowed down... and did not stop. 3rd lorry didnt even slow down. FINALLY, the 4th car stopped to let the boy cross.

what are these adults teaching the kids these days?? that whatever "correct" things you learn in school means nothing at all? what would the boy think? "oh, i did what my teacher told me to, but its no use. so why bother?". this will only further compound the problem of lousy drivers in singapore, as they grow up and do the exact same thing.

sigh.

(cant you just sense day-before-TP-and-feeling-very-lousy angst.)
