Florrie and Three Lads from Northern Ireland

Our first gig of the new year was sadly, not three fine lads from Teignmouth but Northern Ireland. Before Two Door Cinema Club appeared, there were two opening acts- we only came after the first opening act finished (I have no idea what they were called but their music wasn't exactly ... music). The second opening act was Florrie, a cute and sassy 21 year old Bristol lass who is a very good drummer (Desmond take note this is the Orianthi of drumming here).
Hui Min was in love with her and her hair (check her out at Florrie.com). Florrie aside, Two Door Cinema Club didn't disappoint with their 45 minute set- they played all the songs from their debut album and well, they've only released one album so the length of their actual appearance is quite forgivable.
With Two Door down, next up on our gig list is MGMT which HM and I aren't quite sure of what to expect given their NON-Time-To-Pretend/Kids/Electric Feel- kind-of-second-album (the first two songs on 'Congratulations' sound like Belle and Sebastian). But hopefully they won't be too weird on Friday- as quoted in the Rolling Stone review of 'Congratulations':

"With Congratulations, they attempt to not just keep it weird which they've done but to figure out how they can be in it for the long haul. It's a solid start."

Bring on the weirdness.
