I Watched This

And I did really enjoy it, actually. Think the casting was pretty much spot-on, especially Carey Mulligan (all softness and melancholy, I'm always so in love with her) and Keira Knightley (cold and hard and brittle)... not to mention the incredibly perfect casting of the kids. Both the girls who played Carey and Keira's younger selves were so uncannily like their older counterparts - Keira's jaunty arrogance, Carey's kindness and wry expressions - that I would swear they really did use - well, I can't give away the plot to those who haven't read the book, but let's just say it was almost supernatural.
