The (nearly) all-star line-up for Mr. Luhrmann's adaptation of our favourite Fitzgerald novel has been confirmed:

Jay Gatsby

Daisy Buchanan

Nick Carraway

(And relative unknown, Joel Edgerton as) Tom Buchanan
Now Luhrman just has to begin production and filming and hopefully we'll see the film in 2013. Gatsby aside, the past month has been crazy studying and I'm done with 3 out of 4 exams- I just had an East Asian paper today, yesterday was Eastern Europe and last Thursday was George Orwell and Harold Pinter day for me. I'm glad I'm took lit as an outside option this year (it was a very nice break from history to study about Big Brother and freedom in Orwell's world, and a dash of the absurd in Pinter's plays). I wonder if I should to the Cold War and Literature module next year. I can't believe I'm going to be in my final year of uni next year. It's scaring me a bit that student life is bound to end. Soon. Working from 9-6/7/8/9pm every single day just seems so abstract. But certain. I shall think about this later- for now I have to focus on the history of Muslims, Christians and Jews. One more exam and SUMMER WILL BE MINE.
Joel Edgerton was in Animal Kingdom, a really good Australian mob movie from last year (kind of like a modern Melbourne Godfather). So I know who he is and I like him. :) Also he's in a new movie called Warrior with Tom Hardy coming out this year!
