We had this commencement ceremony today where a whole bunch of speakers from UCLA addressed us, and one of them was like the executive producer of Family Guy, Steve Whatsit, who's like an alumnus, and at the end of his speech he played this little voice message from Stewie to us: "WELCOME TO UCLA. GO BRUIIIIIINS." (See that episode where he says RUIIIIN a lot) That was kind of random, no?
Americans are very loud and today we tried to play a game with the whole dorm floor in one room and I totally gave up trying to get a word in edgewise! And even if I did they wouldn't understand my humour! They don't know Devendra Banhart and he's freaking American!* What's wrong with this world?! I'm constantly like Where are all the polite and quiet people? Aren't there any nice and quiet people? I swear there were some in that movie!
Oh and my phone is very strange and has a lot of problems with international texts so don't try to message me just yet; I know some of you did, and I appreciate it (aw) but STOP IT NOW.
*We played this game that was like Taboo. My word was FOLK SINGER . Me: OH! OH! (You gotta shout to be heard in this country) DEVENDRA BANHART!!!

ReplyDeleteI was standing in line last night for something and this guy ahead of me was saying to his friend, "I can't find anyone who watches How I Met Your Mother! How I Met Your Mother is the best show on TV!!" Sorry man, but I can tell you right now that I'll NEVER watch How I Met Your Mother. Anyway I have a lot of things to watch for my class, I've a critique of Gladiator (of all things) due next week!

i am yet to meet any "real" Brits. strange seeing as how i've been in london for a week. everyone is either a foreign worker or a tourist.
Kelly you are right A12 has spoiled us terribly and House is not all that bad; heck I was even watching Grey's Anatomy with Hui Min yesterday (I've never caught on the Grey's fever)
