The Good Ones

In honor of Valentine's Day coming up this month, and in the face of all the various bizarre couplings that have ever emerged out of celebrity-land (eg. January Jones and Ashton Kutcher, Devendra Banhart and Natalie Portman, Russell Brand and Katy Perry - sorry, I find that one weird, Marilyn Manson and both ERW and DVT), we are celebrating "The Good Ones", those rare moments when two celebrities came together and the sum was more than its parts. In a perfect world, when I'm all grown up and living in a suburb somewhere in America, these will be the neighbors and we'll all have pool parties together and play golf at the club and stuff.

1) H.Ledger//M.Williams
Too perfect to last.

2) P.Newman//J.Woodward
Just the sweetest couple of all time(look at them!). And I was going to say, massive points for the 50-year marriage... although on second thought who wouldn't stay married to Paul Newman for fifty years? a hundred? for eternity?

3) J.Depp//Anyone
He has good taste.

4) D.Aronofsky//R.Weisz
Single-handedly saving the human race by producing incredibly intelligent and good-looking offspring.

5) K.Bacon//K.Sedgwick
These two always look so cute together on the red carpet.

6) D.Rice//M.Laurent
This is apparently on. If it is, the world will be blinded by their combined amazingness. I'm highly jealous of both of them - although I think this would be a much hotter relationship in many ways -

7) (Imaginary) C.Waltz//M.Laurent.
Forget the fact that he's exactly twice her age. This is too awesome a relationship to not happen. DO IT.
(It appears I possess some kind of strange Nazi/Jew Holocaust fetish. Where did that come from?)

I'm pretty sure I've overlooked some worthy candidates (Dancy & Danes? Beatty and Bening? I was considering it.) and if you can think of any, please tell me!

  3. To comment 1: Huh. Didn't know you were a Betty man.
To comment 2: It's not, as your reaction suggests, a bad idea! It's a very good one! Those 2 MADE that movie! They can also... make babies.
To comment 3: The worst part is I didn't even catch that myself! Nicely spotted.

It's (almost too) perfect. And I loveeee their photos, every single one makes me want to be that person, so cool and full of light.

  11. Yeah I heard all about that little bitch. Hahaha and I think you guys should have come up with something too, give her some competition. And hello? Can we get more reactions please? Y'all have been too silent, too long!
Also everyone stop hating on me for number 7.
Also, Damien Rice is not weird. He's just Irish.

  12. HAHAHA gosh- ok number 7 is a leeeeetle weird hmmmm I think a couple that should have lasted but sadly didn't is Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. They were one of the 'we-don't-have-to-be-married-to-be-in-love-for-this-long' kind of couples; well their love died. Sadly. But COUPLE NUMBER ONE FOREVER- lovely lovely photo Kelly =) Danes and Darcy look cute together I guess. And whoa Laurent was with the Irish One?? Hmm hard to imagine (since it was probably NEVER public) but hey cool. Here's to all the Good Ones!
