Public Service Announcement

Today I went to the Esplanade Library to hunt for a textbook for my online class, only to discover that, drumroll, please, they allow basic members to borrow 2 audio-visual materials each now. So I trotted over to the DVD section to see if there was anything worth borrowing. And lo and behold, there was! I had completely forgotten this since my hanging-around-Esplanade-desperately-searching-for-plays-for-TSD days, but they have a really interesting DVD collection - a ton of old movies, foreign movies, and random rare movies, with the odd recent release thrown in for good measure.
You should've seen me, it was like a cartoon. A real "KA-CHING!" moment. My eyes grew to the size of saucers. I used my mom's and brother's library cards and borrowed 5. Am now trawling through the library's online catalogue to see what else I can get my grubby hands on. I mean - they have Cat On a Hot Tin Roof!



Oh. The glory. Yes, I realise that some of us have already seen that movie. I realise that some of us already own the DVD. But it's the principle of the thing! Aren't you excited? All those DVDs - some of them Criterion Collections, which they sell at HMV for like 80 bucks - at your very fingertips - and free! Well done, Library! Times like these, I love this country.
