And it should really spur us all to act on our impulses, no? All these missed connections, stories of basically the same thing - human courage faltering at the last second. And we've all been there a million times over, in situations ranging from romantic to epic, trivial to life-changing (I think I could write a thousand of these on clothes alone - "To the Gray Zara Boots that were a smidgen too small..."). If you never try then you never know, right?
Anyway here are my favourites from the past year:
I am insanely curious about this next one. That moustache must really be something else - yet at the same time, he's really really really ridiculously good looking? Damnit, I want to see! :
And this last one gets to me very muchly because of the voice of the writer. The shy protectiveness, the indifference to literature ("some book"), the hilariously-timed, hopeful yet pathetic, deadpan punchline - it's so revealing in so few words! I'm immediately picturing this guy as kind of like Marky Mark in The Fighter (which by the way I loved). It's almost a poem addressed to the recipient, and it's so touchingly sincere/funny that I almost think it's fake. Cleverly designed expressly to tug on everyone heartstrings!
LOVE THIS SITE. i went through all the entries. and i think i became quite teary at some.
