GOSH. I'm going to attempt to explain how amazing OK Go was last night. I swear it was pure euphoria at some moments. I will use a numbering system so i don't go on a crazy ramble about how much i am absolutely in love with Damian Kulash right now. Extremely long post + picture spam.
1. Shu Wen and I were in the standing crowd. Two rows from the front! The venue was pretty small so everything was that much closer and we were directly in front of the band. SO CLOSE.
2. HOW CUTE IS DAMIAN KULASH! We absolutely adore him. He smiled literally throughout the entire gig! And not to mention our intense 3-second eye contact which basically left me hyperventilating.
3. They performed the song "What to Do" with HANDBELLS.
4. Being serenaded by Damian with the song "Last Leaf" So utterly sweet.
5. He taught us how to sing one of their new songs, "This Too Shall Pass". AWW!
5. AND THEN HE JUMPED INTO THE CROWD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG. AND YES, WE TOUCHED HIM.
7. FURRY, GLOW-IN-THE-DARK GUITARS. WITH LASERS.
8. CONFETTI EXPLOSIONS. FIVE TIMES. It was mania and absolute madness every.single. time. And each time there was so much we were drowning in it haha.
9. Great live renditions of their old songs. They jazzed up the guitar melodies and riffs to make the songs 10 times more awesome than what's on the records.
10. Absolutely amazing stage presence of the entire band - they're all such crowd pleasers.
We left with stupid grins plastered on our faces all the way back to dorm. Oh, and I also stole the only poster they had up at the venue and brought it home to put next to my bed. It's my Prize of Awesome.
OK Go is forever our happy band (: and we've been utterly charmed by them for ever and always. They're just that psychadontastic.

Fucking hell. The only exciting thing I'm doing today is... donating blood and attending a UCLA Project Runway competition (the guest judge is Jeffrey "Tattoo" Sebelia, which, OK, is mildly exciting). But everyone else wins.

ReplyDelete3-second eye contact was amazing. i was just starting at his gorgeous face the entire time, and there was this one point where he gave me this side glance while singing and it was like WHOA GOSH i nearly passed out HAHA. ahhhhh Damian Kulash he's so adorable.
and yes please! Cat Power and YYYs update!
